Position Summary

The Lead Laborer is responsible for operating and converting UBS Arena from event to event. You will be working to reconfigure the arena, its floor, and its concourses based on the specific needs of each event at UBS Arena.

This role will pay an hourly rate of $23.74.

About The Venue

UBS Arena at Belmont Park is made for music and built for hockey. New York's newest premier entertainment and sports venue and home of the New York Islanders is developed in partnership with Oak View Group, the New York Islanders, and Jeff Wilpon. The state-of-the-art arena opened in November 2021 and has welcomed numerous top artists, including Harry Styles, Sebastian Maniscalco, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, TWICE, Eagles, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone. The venue delivers an unmatched live entertainment experience for guests, including clear sightlines and premier acoustics.

Responsibilities

• Set up and strike before, during, and after events.
• Set up and strike includes setting stages, tables, chairs, carpet, pipe and drape, risers, etc., and operation of equipment and maintaining supplies needed for events.
• Store supplies properly, equipment maintenance, daily time logs, proper vehicle use, etc.
• Safely operate a forklift, aerial lift, and other equipment typically used in this type of work.
• Follow and adhere to OSHA guidelines when operating designated equipment.
• Perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task or another, without the loss of efficiency of composure.
• Follow all operating policies and procedures at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Conversion or change-over experience required.
• Job-related training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities preferred.
• Must have reliable, punctual, and regular attendance.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform work under pressure without the loss of composure.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, lift heavy objects, reach, pull, push, grasp, and drag.
• Ability to maintain patron, employee, and company confidentiality.
• Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be courteous and polite.
• Must be knowledgeable about buildings and events.
• Must be able to work any day or shift of the week, weekend, and/or holidays as needed.
