Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) partners with support staff to ensure the provision of customer focused care and safety in the PCP office setting within the scope and responsibilities of the LPN license and patient care standards of Riverview Health.

Job Responsibilities

Implement planned care as directed and supervised within the scope of the Indiana Nurse Practice Act requirements for LPN's.
Administer medications, know their actions, and side effects, recognize allergic reactions and document the patient's response to drugs.
Answer patient calls
Communicate changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and other members of the healthcare team.
Provide patient education and explain the procedures, medications, and treatment to be administered to gain cooperation and ease apprehension.
Actively work to ensure patients’ rights are identified and met for every patient.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Graduate of accredited School of Practical Nursing

Experience Requirements

Minimum: No experience required
Preferred: Hospital experience

Minimum:

License/Certification Requirements

Practical Nursing license eligible to practice in the state of Indiana
Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)

Education

Required

Associates or better in Practical Nursing

BLS- Basic Life Support
Lic Practical Nurse
