Job Description

Luxury Jewelry Sales Consultant and/or Swiss Watches Sales Specialist

About Us

Roman Jewelers is a family-owned, high-end retail jeweler in Bridgewater, NJ, specializing in fine diamonds, luxury brands, Swiss watches, and exquisite custom design work. We have built our reputation on trust, emotional connection, and master craftsmanship. We are looking for a sophisticated sales professional who wants to escape the transactional corporate retail world and build a meaningful, lucrative career.

We celebrate life’s most meaningful moments with our customers. For over three decades, we have provided our community with an extraordinary experience, offering top world-class diamonds, bridal and fashion jewelry, Swiss watches, and custom designs. Our success is built on an unwavering commitment to quality, a sophisticated and warm environment, and deeply rooted relationships with our clients.

We don't just sell jewelry; we create experiences, build trust, and become part of our clients' family stories for generations.

The Role

We are seeking a poised, articulate, and highly motivated Luxury Sales Consultant to join our elite team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor and brand ambassador. You will guide clients through significant emotional purchases, build lifelong relationships through meticulous clienteling, and deliver a seamless, elevated service experience that matches our reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Master the Art of Clienteling: Proactively build, maintain, and grow a personal book of business. Use consistent, thoughtful follow-up (phone, email, text, and handwritten notes) to celebrate client milestones, announce new collections, and invite preferred clients to exclusive in-store events.
  • Build Unwavering Trust: Engage with clients warmly and authentically. Actively listen to discover their unique stories, preferences, and needs, with every recommendation feeling deeply personal and never transactional.
  • Deliver an Elevated Experience: Provide a warm, sophisticated, and high-touch hospitality experience from the moment a guest walks through our doors to the final presentation of their purchase.
  • Demonstrate Fine Jewelry Expertise: Guide clients seamlessly through the nuances of diamonds, precious gemstones, custom design processes, and luxury timepieces with confidence and clarity.
  • Collaborate on Custom Designs: Partner closely with our master artisans and custom design team to bring our clients’ unique visions to life.
  • Maintain Store Excellence: Ensure the sales floor, showcases, and visual merchandising meet the highest standards of luxury presentation daily.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Luxury Experience Required: Minimum of 2–3 years of proven success in high-end luxury retail, fine jewelry, bridal styling, or a high-touch, adjacent luxury industry (e.g., luxury hospitality, student education, premium real estate, high-end bridal stylists, high-end automotive).
  • Proven Clienteling Success: A track record of building long-term customer relationships and successfully managing a client portfolio to drive repeat business.
  • Exceptional Communication: Impeccable verbal and written communication skills, with a natural ability to connect with diverse and affluent clientele.
  • Emotional Intelligence: A high degree of empathy, active listening skills, and the intuition required to handle emotional, high-ticket purchases (such as engagement rings or milestone anniversary gifts).
  • Professional Presence: Poised, polished, and professional demeanor that naturally reflects our brand’s standards.
  • Gemological Credentials: GIA coursework or certification (AJP, Graduate Gemologist) is highly desirable, but a passion for continuous learning is a definite must.

What We Offer

  • Highly competitive base salary plus an attractive bonus structure with uncapped earning potential.
  • A supportive, professional, and sophisticated working environment.
  • Ongoing professional development, including in-store training combined with industry and gemological training.
  • Generous employee discounts.
  • PTO
  • Vacations
  • Sick Time
  • Medical Insurance
  • Life Insurance
