S&T Precision is seeking a full-time Machinist to join our on-site team in Fountain Valley, CA. The Machinist will set up and operate Swiss-type CNC lathes, conventional CNC lathes, and CNC mills to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities include interpreting blueprints and work instructions, selecting tooling and materials, loading raw stock, adjusting machine settings and tool offsets, and monitoring production to maintain dimensional accuracy. The Machinist will also inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments, document inspection results, troubleshoot machining issues, and perform routine machine maintenance. Maintaining a safe, organized workspace and working with team members to resolve production and quality issues are also important parts of the role.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders, with a solid understanding of shop math and measurements.
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating Swiss-type CNC lathes, conventional CNC lathes, CNC mills, or similar machining equipment in a production or job-shop environment.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators.
• Understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, tool offsets, and basic troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality parts while following safety procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Previous experience in precision machining or metalworking; relevant technical training, an apprenticeship, or vocational education is a plus.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Fountain Valley, CA.
