Job Description
KYDA Partners is supporting an established, growing organisation within the life sciences and medical device sector in the search for an experienced Infrastructure Engineering Manager.
This is an opportunity for a technically strong infrastructure professional to take ownership of the reliability, security and performance of enterprise IT infrastructure across a growing, multi-site organisation.
Our client is looking for someone who can combine hands-on network and Microsoft Azure expertise with a strong understanding of cybersecurity operations, infrastructure resilience and technical leadership.
The role offers significant exposure to senior IT leadership and the opportunity to influence how infrastructure and security capabilities are developed as the business continues to expand through new facilities, product launches and acquisitions.
What You'll Be Doing:
Working closely with the wider IT function, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation, security and continuous improvement of enterprise infrastructure across multiple business locations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless networks and secure connectivity.
- Administering and optimising Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, compute, storage, backup services and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Maintaining network segmentation, VPNs, access controls and secure remote access solutions.
- Monitoring infrastructure availability, performance and capacity, identifying and resolving issues before they impact business operations.
- Overseeing cybersecurity operations, including security monitoring, SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management and incident response.
- Working closely with external cybersecurity partners to coordinate threat monitoring, escalations and remediation activities.
- Managing infrastructure patching, firmware updates, security hardening and technology lifecycle improvements.
- Maintaining disaster recovery, backup and business continuity capabilities, including recovery testing.
- Supporting infrastructure deployment and integration for new facilities, business expansions and acquisitions.
- Ensuring infrastructure changes, technical documentation and operational procedures meet appropriate quality and compliance requirements.
- Managing relationships with infrastructure vendors, carriers and service providers.
- Reporting infrastructure performance, cybersecurity risks and operational improvements to senior IT leadership.
This is a role for someone who enjoys remaining close to the technology while taking responsibility for operational performance, cybersecurity and the delivery of reliable infrastructure services.
What We're Looking For:
We're particularly interested in speaking with infrastructure professionals who have strong technical foundations across enterprise networking, Microsoft Azure and cybersecurity operations.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or network engineering, including at least 3 years in a senior technical or leadership capacity.
- Strong hands-on experience with enterprise networking, including routing, switching, wireless infrastructure and firewall technologies such as Palo Alto, Fortinet or Cisco.
- Practical experience administering Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Microsoft Entra ID.
- Experience managing cloud and on-premises infrastructure within a multi-site business environment.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity operations, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanning and incident response.
- Experience working with managed security service providers or external cybersecurity advisory partners.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Controls or ISO 27001.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring, patch management, backup solutions and disaster recovery.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- The confidence to take ownership of technical issues, coordinate external partners and introduce practical improvements.
We would also welcome experience within regulated environments such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or life sciences, particularly where infrastructure supports GxP systems.
Additional experience with ITIL processes, infrastructure automation, PowerShell, Terraform, Bicep, manufacturing/OT networks, SD-WAN or technology integration following acquisitions would be advantageous.
Relevant certifications such as CCNP, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-500, Security+, CySA+ or CISSP would also be of interest.`

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of a broad enterprise infrastructure environment, combining network engineering, Microsoft Azure administration and cybersecurity operations within a business that continues to grow.
The position offers exposure to a variety of technical challenges, from strengthening security and resilience across existing facilities to supporting infrastructure development for new sites and acquired businesses.
You'll also work closely with external cybersecurity specialists and senior IT stakeholders, helping translate technical risks and operational requirements into practical improvements.
The role would suit an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Network & Security Lead, Infrastructure Operations Manager or hands-on IT Infrastructure Manager who enjoys solving complex technical problems while taking greater ownership of infrastructure strategy and operational delivery.
You'll be joining an environment where initiative, technical expertise and the ability to balance security, reliability and business needs will be valued.
Location
This position is based on-site in San Antonio, Texas, with occasional domestic travel of up to 20%.
The role also involves participation in an on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure outages or cybersecurity incidents when required.
