Job Description

Role Description

Supports marketing and business decisions through campaign automation, customer data management, or market research. The focus varies by role: a Marketing Automation Specialist builds and optimizes automated campaigns; a CRM Specialist maintains customer relationship systems and data; and a Market Research Analyst studies customers, competitors, and markets to provide evidence for planning.

A Marketing Automation Specialist creates and manages campaign workflows, audience segments, forms, lead-scoring rules, and triggered communications. Coordinates campaign setup with marketing teams, tests messages and workflows, monitors delivery and engagement, and investigates issues. Uses campaign results to recommend improvements to targeting, timing, content, and customer journeys.

A CRM Specialist supports the day-to-day use and improvement of CRM systems. Maintains records, fields, user access, workflows, reports, and data-quality rules. Helps users follow consistent processes, investigates system or data problems, documents procedures, and coordinates changes or integrations with sales, marketing, service, and technology teams.

A Market Research Analyst gathers and analyzes information about customers, competitors, industry conditions, and market opportunities. Supports research through surveys, interviews, focus groups, desk research, and analysis of existing business data. Identifies patterns in customer needs, preferences, behavior, and market trends, then prepares findings and recommendations for business or marketing decisions.

Across these roles, responsibilities may include preparing dashboards and reports, coordinating projects, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating findings to stakeholders. Specialists may also support campaign measurement, customer segmentation, product research, or improvements to marketing processes. They handle customer and research data carefully and follow organizational privacy and consent requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, information systems, statistics, or a related field preferred
  • Experience in marketing operations, CRM administration, campaign management, market research, or data analysis
  • For automation roles, familiarity with platforms such as HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar tools
  • For CRM roles, experience maintaining CRM records, workflows, reports, user access, and data quality
  • For research roles, familiarity with research methods, survey design, interviews, statistical analysis, or market intelligence
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, with attention to detail when working with campaign settings, customer records, or research data
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets and standard office tools; SQL, analytics, or visualization skills are an asset
  • Ability to prepare clear reports, dashboards, and presentations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with marketing, sales, technology, and business teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining accurate records
  • Good problem-solving skills and confidence investigating system, data, or campaign issues
  • Awareness of consent, privacy, and responsible handling of customer and research information
  • Relevant platform certifications, research training, or experience in the organization’s industry is an asset
