Job Description
About Laurel Employment Law
We are not your traditional law firm. Laurel Employment Law is a fully remote, tech-driven plaintiff's firm that's redefining how employment law is practiced. We're a team of smart, ambitious litigators who collaborate to deliver outstanding results for our clients — and we have fun doing it! We use cutting-edge legal tech to eliminate inefficiencies, empower autonomy, and give our attorneys the freedom to focus on what matters: winning for our clients and building meaningful careers. If you thrive in a high-performance, growth-oriented culture and want to do your best work without commuting, micromanagement, or outdated systems, this is the place for you.
The Role
We're a fast-growing, AI-native law firm, and our marketing engine needs to grow with it. We're looking for a Marketing Manager who can take real ownership of our channels, website, and data — someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do next, but digs in, finds the signal, and drives the work forward.
To be clear about scope: this is not a media buying or hands-on campaign execution role. You won't be in the ad platforms setting up campaigns yourself. Instead, you'll direct and manage our agency partners who handle that execution, own the strategy and analysis behind it, and be the one spearheading new marketing initiatives and owning our website. This is an independent-operator, strategy-and-oversight role — the judgment calls and the follow-through are yours, even when the hands-on-keyboard work sits with an agency.
The Culture
Laurel is built differently. We started the Firm asking an important question: "what if it didn't have to suck to work at a law firm? In fact, what if it could be kind of awesome?" The result is an award-winning culture where we take the work seriously without ever taking ourselves too seriously. We've built a team of winners who work together to get more done, more efficiently, while leaving opposing counsel asking themselves, "how the heck did they do that?" Here, your job is telling that story — sharply, honestly, and with real ownership of how it lands. We win and we have fun doing it. It's a better way to practice.
The Laurel Way
Laurel is built on a foundation of 3 unique competitive advantages: Technology, Culture, and a Shared Services model that relieves our attorneys of the most arduous parts of the job. Your work is how the outside world finds out about it. You'll shape the website, the content, and the data-driven judgment calls that turn "a better way to practice law" from an internal belief into something prospective clients and attorneys actually discover and believe.
What You'll Do
Website & Content Ownership
- Own website content initiatives end to end, from concept through publish, working in close partnership with our agency team on execution
- Keep our site's messaging, structure, and content sharp, current, and aligned with firm priorities
- Drive the roadmap of what gets built and when, rather than just executing someone else's brief
Strategy, Analysis & Platform Fluency
- Dig into performance data across web and campaigns — using tools like Google Analytics and Google Ads reporting — to find what's working, what isn't, and why
- Translate trends into clear recommendations that shape campaign direction and channel investment
- Build and maintain the reporting and dashboards that keep the team honest about what's actually moving the needle
- Stay fluent in the marketing technology stack (Google Analytics, Google Ads, SEO/reporting tools, website/CMS platform, marketing automation) well enough to direct agency work and ask sharp questions — not to execute campaigns yourself
Agency Direction & Initiative Leadership
- Direct our agency partners on campaigns and channel strategy — set the brief, evaluate results, and hold them accountable, rather than buying or building campaigns directly
- Own the launch of new marketing channels and growth processes, from first test to scaled rollout, in partnership with agency execution
- Spearhead new marketing initiatives from idea to launch, bringing the right partners and priorities together to get them done
- Iterate fast: kill what doesn't work, double down on what does
Upward Communication
- Communicate needs, blockers, and opportunities clearly and proactively to leadership
- Make the case for resourcing, priority, or direction changes with data, not just instinct
- Keep stakeholders aligned without needing to be chased for updates
Your Skills & Mindset
- 4–6 years of marketing experience, with real ownership of channels, campaigns, or content — not just execution support
- Strong platform and technology fluency: comfortable working across Google Analytics, Google Ads reporting, SEO/reporting platforms, website/CMS systems, and marketing automation to guide strategy and evaluate agency performance
- Comfortable working with data: pulling it, interpreting it, and using it to make decisions, not just reporting on it
- Experience partnering with an external agency, with the judgment to direct their work rather than just approve it
- A track record of standing up something new — a channel, a process, a campaign type — from scratch
- Strong, proactive communicator, able to flag needs and drive alignment with leadership without hand-holding
- Self-directed and comfortable owning outcomes with real autonomy
- Startup background preferred — comfortable in a fast-moving, resource-lean environment without a big internal team to lean on
- Able to work core hours aligned to Pacific Time
- Experience in a legal, financial, or other regulated professional-services environment
- Experience building marketing operations or reporting infrastructure from the ground up
Why Laurel
- Real ownership, real autonomy, and real opportunities for advancement as the firm scales
- Fully Remote — work from anywhere with world-class collaboration tools
- Tech-Enabled Efficiency — join a team that's automating away the busywork, not adding to it
- Culture That Wins Together — no egos, no bureaucracy — just sharp, driven people who push and support each other
- Competitive Compensation — $105k - $140k base salary depending on experience, plus benefits and a performance bonus tied to key team success metrics
