Material Trades Worker I (Temp)

UAB Temp Services is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to fill a Material Trades Worker I (Roofing) position. This role supports roofing maintenance, repairs, and installation projects throughout the UAB campus and surrounding locations.

The selected candidate will assist skilled craftsmen with roofing operations, transport materials and supplies, maintain clean and safe work areas, and perform various physical labor tasks.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist roofers with the installation, application, maintenance, and repair of roofing materials.
• Load, unload, carry, and transport roofing materials, tools, and supplies.
• Pick up and deliver materials to various job locations on and off campus.
• Prepare roof surfaces and work areas for roofing projects.
• Perform general labor duties, including sweeping, mopping, demolition, and job-site cleanup.
• Operate University vehicles, including dump trucks, as assigned and authorized.
• Assist with loading and unloading dump trucks.
• Support additional maintenance activities, including cleaning cabinets and installing cove base and ceiling tiles.
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe work environments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Employment Type: Temporary

Department: UAB Facilities – Roofing Operations

Hourly Rate: $15.00

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license issued in the United States.
• Must have at least three years of driving experience.
  
  

Must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with University underwriting guidelines
