Overview

NuScale Power is seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 specializing in NSSS Component Design & Analysis to join our dynamic team. Job Responsibilities

• Perform detailed mechanical design and analysis of NSSS components, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
• Develop and review engineering documentation, including design specifications and analysis reports.
• Conduct failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and ensure robust product development practices.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to support integrated design efforts.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Support project management efforts by providing accurate estimates and adhering to project schedules.
• Interact with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with safety and operational regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience in nuclear, aerospace, or heavy industry environments.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, materials science, and thermal-hydraulic systems.
• Experience with simulation software such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Proficiency in engineering calculations, modeling, and analysis techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
