JOB DESCRIPTION:
POSITION OVERVIEW
An established organization is seeking an experienced ERP Transformation Lead to serve as a key internal resource during a major Microsoft Dynamics ERP implementation. This position will bridge business operations, technology teams, and an external implementation partner to ensure the new platform supports organizational requirements, improves operational efficiency, and delivers long-term business value.
The ideal candidate brings strong functional expertise in Microsoft Dynamics AX and Dynamics 365, with the ability to evaluate business processes, guide system decisions, challenge implementation recommendations, and represent internal stakeholder interests throughout the transformation.
The ERP initiative is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, with an anticipated implementation timeline of 18–24 months. This individual will play an integral role throughout the project lifecycle and transition into an ongoing ERP support and optimization function following deployment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary functional liaison between internal business departments, IT leadership, and the third-party ERP implementation team.
- Evaluate current operational workflows and translate business objectives into system requirements, configuration recommendations, and implementation priorities.
- Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to identify process inefficiencies, application limitations, and opportunities to leverage standard Microsoft Dynamics functionality.
- Provide functional guidance across ERP modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Inventory Management, and Warehouse Operations.
- Assess proposed system designs, integrations, and customization requests to ensure solutions align with business goals and minimize unnecessary complexity.
- Influence ERP-related decisions by recommending process improvements, resolving functional challenges, and balancing operational requirements with platform capabilities.
- Coordinate data conversion activities, including legacy system mapping, data integrity reviews, cleansing strategies, and reconciliation of financial and operational information.
- Develop testing strategies, coordinate cross-functional validation efforts, and oversee System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Collaborate with technology and business teams to establish appropriate system access, role-based permissions, security controls, and compliance procedures.
- Support organizational readiness through training materials, knowledge transfer, process documentation, and end-user adoption initiatives.
- Participate in deployment planning, issue resolution, post-implementation stabilization, and ongoing system enhancements.
- Provide continued functional support and contribute to future ERP improvements following completion of the initial implementation.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, or comparable Microsoft Dynamics ERP environments.
- Experience participating in ERP implementations, enterprise system conversions, or large-scale business application modernization projects.
- Working knowledge of finance, accounting, inventory, supply chain, or warehouse-related ERP processes.
- Ability to evaluate functional requirements, conduct process assessments, and translate business needs into effective system solutions.
- Experience collaborating with external implementation consultants, systems integrators, and internal business stakeholders.
- Understanding of ERP testing methodologies, data migration activities, configuration management, and system deployment processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify operational gaps, assess technical recommendations, and recommend practical solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
