Network Automation Engineer

I am currently seeking a skilled Network Automation Engineer for a premier technology firm supporting a federal client. This is a full time onsite position located in Chantilly Virginia and requires an active TS SCI security clearance.

In this role you will be part of a high performing team of software and platform engineers dedicated to the design and maintenance of advanced network infrastructure. Your primary focus will be automating the deployment and support of critical systems including hardware such as routers and firewalls as well as modern software defined control planes.

Key responsibilities include implementing network changes through automation and developing sustainable repeatable processes for large scale infrastructure. You will be responsible for troubleshooting complex routing and performance issues while working closely with Linux systems and next generation networking tools. You will also help maintain architectural standards to ensure the rapid rollout of new designs and products.

Qualified candidates should possess the following skills and experience

Proficiency in either Python or Go programming languages

Extensive experience with networking protocols and APIs including Open vSwitch or RESTful APIs for network devices

Deep knowledge of network architecture and topologies such as VLAN LAN and WAN

Proven experience utilizing automation frameworks with a specific focus on Ansible

Strong background in performing systems operations and technology refreshes in an enterprise environment
