Peoplesoft Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior PeopleSoft Developer/Engineer to support the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise PeopleSoft Financials applications. This individual will work closely with functional teams, business stakeholders, and other technical resources to design and deliver reliable, scalable solutions that support critical financial operations.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Financials development, strong Oracle SQL and database expertise, and a solid understanding of PeopleSoft architecture and integrations. This is a highly technical, hands-on role requiring someone who can independently develop solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, optimize system performance, and support applications throughout the full development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, enhance, and support PeopleSoft Financials applications to meet evolving business and operational needs.
• Collaborate with functional analysts, business users, and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain functionality across key PeopleSoft Financials modules, particularly Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and General Ledger (GL).
• Support integrations and enhancements involving additional PeopleSoft modules, including Asset Management, Purchasing, and eProcurement.
• Utilize PeopleSoft development technologies such as Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Packages, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, PS Query, BI Publisher, and PeopleSoft Security.
• Design, develop, and maintain application interfaces, custom components, workflows, and automated business processes.
• Write and optimize complex Oracle SQL queries, troubleshoot database-related issues, and improve application performance.
• Develop efficient solutions capable of processing high volumes of financial transactions and data.
• Analyze existing PeopleSoft processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement enhancements to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Prepare detailed technical specifications, system design documents, data models, and process-flow documentation.
• Develop and execute unit and system testing to validate application functionality and ensure code quality.
• Partner with business teams during user acceptance testing (UAT), investigate defects, and implement necessary corrections.
• Support application deployments, system upgrades, production releases, and post-implementation activities.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production issues, including application errors, interface failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system changes, customizations, integrations, and technical processes.
• Follow established development standards, change management procedures, and coding best practices.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing and supporting PeopleSoft applications.
• 7+ years of PeopleSoft Financials development experience, with strong expertise in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger.
• Extensive experience with PeopleSoft development tools, including PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Designer, Integration Broker, Component Interfaces, and Application Packages.
• 5+ years of experience with Oracle databases, including advanced SQL development, troubleshooting, and query optimization.
• 7+ years of experience with relational database design and development, including a strong understanding of data structures, relationships, and performance tuning.
• 7+ years of experience working in RHEL/Linux and Windows environments.
• Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials architecture, core tables, business processes, and data flows.
• Experience designing and developing integrations between PeopleSoft and external applications.
• Proven ability to develop scalable solutions that efficiently handle large transaction volumes.
• Experience with the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.
• Strong background in creating technical specifications, system documentation, process models, and data-flow diagrams.
• Experience developing unit test plans, supporting system integration testing, and resolving defects identified during UAT.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to independently investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2 and recent PeopleTools versions.
• Familiarity with PeopleSoft Asset Management, Purchasing, and eProcurement modules.
• Experience developing and supporting PeopleSoft Workflow and Approval Workflow Engine (AWE).
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft application security, permissions, and role-based access.
• Experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, patches, customizations, and production support.
• Familiarity with performance tuning of Application Engine processes, SQL queries, and system integrations.
• Experience working in large, complex enterprise financial environments.
• Exposure to Agile development methodologies and structured change management processes.
