Pet Care Specialist (Part-Time Dog Walker & Pet Sitter)

Shady Waggers has been caring for pets inside the Houston Loop since 2016. We're a small, white-glove team, and we're looking for one more person who loves animals, has good instincts with people, and wants steady part-time work that fits around the rest of their life.

What you'll do

• Dog walks (30, 45, 60, and 90 minutes) and in-home pet-sitting visits


• Feed, water, give medication when needed, and leave each home as you found it


• Send a short visit report with photos after every visit


• Read a dog's body language and adjust: a fearful pup, a hot July afternoon, a dead smart lock

Pay

• Per-visit pay, $16–$30 depending on visit length


• Paid training, including 2 hours of online training before you start


• W-2 employee, not a contractor

You'll need

• A valid driver's license and your own reliable car


• To live in or close to the Loop (West University / Montrose / Heights area). Visits are inside the Loop; a long commute makes this job not worth it for you.


• A smartphone and comfort texting clients


• Daytime weekday availability, with weekends and holidays a plus

Who does well here

People who've worked in hospitality, caregiving, or any job where you had to notice things before being told. Experience with dogs matters more than pet-industry experience; our founder started with zero pet-care background. This is a part-time role and best for someone who is not looking for 40 hours a week: students, people with flexible schedules, or anyone wanting consistent extra income.
