Job Overview

The Principal DevOps Engineer at the Center for Internet Security will play a crucial role in enhancing and optimizing our development and operational processes. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions to support application deployment and scaling.
• Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to enhance the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development teams to streamline application deployment processes and integrate automated testing.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Establish and promote best practices for infrastructure as code, configuration management, and automated deployments.
• Drive the adoption of containers and orchestration technologies across the organization.
• Work closely with security teams to implement and monitor secure coding practices and adherence to compliance standards.
• Lead training and mentoring initiatives to develop technical skills within the DevOps team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in DevOps or related engineering roles.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Bash, or Go.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, security controls, and server architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing monitoring solutions and utilizing tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Technologies & Tools

The Principal DevOps Engineer will utilize a wide range of technologies and tools, including but not limited to AWS/Azure/Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, Git, Prometheus, Grafana, and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, along with agile project management software, is also essential for successful day-to-day operations.
