Job Overview

The Principal DevOps Engineer at Optum will act as a key contributor in driving the implementation and management of DevOps methodologies and practices throughout the organization. • Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) and automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Oversee the monitoring and logging strategy to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable and secure application architecture.
• Identify and resolve system performance issues and bottlenecks across cloud environments.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior engineers in DevOps practices and tools.
• Participate in incident management and improve post-mortem analysis processes.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps engineering or a related role.
• Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Familiarity with application monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
