Job Description
Join CommonSense Wellness Network, a family-operated independent practitioner association (IPA)
CommonSense Wellness Network (CSWN) is a cooperative of counselors, social workers and psychiatric nurse practitioners, each running their own practice with shared overhead, referrals and consultation. Client centered. Provider led. Community oriented. Our therapists are your colleagues for collaborative care, and our administrative team (including licensed clinicians and an RN) is easy to reach.
We keep overhead low, so providers walk away with the majority of CSWN's revenue. We look for providers who support clients of every identity, background and lived experience, including communities historically harmed by healthcare systems.
Where you'll work
- Telehealth anywhere in New York State, or in person at our main office, 1873 Western Ave, Albany, NY 12203
- Texas-licensed? We're also building our Austin telehealth team.
Pay
- You keep what each paid visit reimburses, minus a $25 overhead fee ($20 after you complete a full-time year's worth of paid visits)
- Self-pay visits: $400 initial evaluation, $300 for 45-minute and $200 for 30-minute follow-ups; insurance follow-ups typically pay $100-$250 (before the overhead fee)
- Typical take-home: about $75-$225 per visit, depending on payer and visit type
- Paid weekly; patient no-shows are not paid
What CSWN provides
- Billing services: insurance paneling, claim submission and payment collection
- EHR with e-prescribing, intake support, telehealth video and phone service
- Office space in New York's Capital Region
- Referrals and collaborative care with CSWN therapists
- Full control of your schedule, patient volume and availability; no minimums
What you bring
- Active New York nurse practitioner certification in psychiatry (or Texas APRN with prescriptive authority)
- Under 3,600 practice hours in NY: your own written practice agreement with a collaborating physician (Texas: your own Prescriptive Authority Agreement)
- PMHNP board certification (ANCC)
- DEA registration, or eligibility to obtain it
- Your own professional liability insurance
- Outpatient or telehealth psychiatry experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training are welcome to apply
How it works
This is an independent contractor (1099) arrangement: you run your own practice within our IPA. Joining includes interviews, reference checks and a background check. We review applications on a rolling basis.
To apply: apply here on LinkedIn, or send your resume, license number and DEA status to Sandra Smith, HR, at [email protected]. Learn more at www.commonsensemh.com.
CSWN welcomes applicants of every background, identity and lived experience.
