QA Automation Engineer (ETL, Python, pytest)

About the Role

Meduvi is seeking an ETL Test Automation Engineer with strong experience in data warehouse testing, ETL testing, cloud testing, and Python automation. This role focuses on validating large-scale data platforms, testing ETL pipelines, and automating data validation processes across cloud and big data environments.

The successful candidate will develop Python automation scripts using pytest and pandas to perform automated ETL data validation. Working closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders in Agile teams, the engineer will help ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform ETL testing across enterprise data platforms.
• Validate source-to-target data mappings and data transformation logic.
• Develop and maintain Python-based test automation frameworks.
• Create Python automation scripts using pytest and pandas for automated ETL data validation.
• Execute API, functional, and regression testing.
• Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test strategies.
• Use complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks.
• Analyze test results and coordinate defect triage activities.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders in Agile teams.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across enterprise systems.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of QA and software testing experience.
• Strong experience in data warehouse testing and ETL testing.
• Strong Python automation skills, including Python, pytest, and pandas.
• Experience with API test automation.
• Strong SQL skills for complex data validation and reconciliation.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience creating test plans and test strategies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Generative AI (Gen AI).
• Familiarity with data observability and data testing tools, such as Great Expectations and dbt tests.
• Experience with pytest.
• Healthcare domain experience, including familiarity with data regulations.
• Working knowledge of cloud ecosystems and messaging or streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Exposure to Playwright automation.
• Exposure to Gherkin syntax, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks, and Cucumber.

Employment Type and Work Arrangement

• Contract-to-hire, with an estimated conversion to permanent employment after 6 months.
• Work Arrangement: 100% remote from anywhere in the United States.
• Schedule: 40 hours per week.
• Core Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

Compensation and Benefits

• Contract Pay Rate: $70–$72 per hour on W-2, depending on experience.
• Permanent Salary Range: $115,000–$120,000 per year, plus bonus.
• Compensation is based on the pay rates specified in the job posting.
