About the Role

Inspiration Mobility Group is seeking a Software QA professional to ensure the quality and reliability of products before they reach customers. Reporting to the Senior Engineer, this role involves collaborating with engineers throughout the development process, maintaining automated test suites, and using AI-assisted testing tools to improve test coverage and efficiency.

The successful candidate will combine automation skills with creative, exploratory testing to identify issues that automated tools may overlook. There will also be opportunities to contribute to the evolution of the company's QA strategy as AI continues to change software development and testing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated end-to-end test suites using tools such as Playwright.
• Collaborate closely with engineers responsible for building and delivering product features.
• Explore AI-assisted testing tools to improve test authoring, maintenance, and coverage analysis.
• Own regression testing and provide final sign-off on release candidates before deployment.
• Perform exploratory testing to identify edge cases, unexpected interactions, and issues beyond standard testing scenarios.
• Develop testing approaches for products that do not fit traditional application QA processes, including data products and non-deterministic features.
• Contribute to the evolution of the company's QA approach, including testing strategy, CI/CD test gates, and documentation.
• Help determine how AI-assisted development tools can support code verification and software quality.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in a Software QA role.
• At least 3 years of hands-on automated testing experience using Playwright, another modern testing framework, or Selenium with relevant testing tools.
• Comfort working with Git in day-to-day development workflows.
• Strong exploratory testing skills and the ability to identify unexpected bugs and edge cases.
• Interest in or experience using AI-assisted testing tools.
• Ability to evaluate where AI can improve testing processes and where human judgment remains important.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience owning part of a CI/CD or software release process.
• Experience with test planning and testing strategy.
• Ideas and practical perspectives on improving a team's testing approach.

Work Arrangement

• Remote-eligible position.
• Inspiration Mobility also has an office in Washington, DC.
• In-office teams collaborate Tuesday through Thursday and work remotely Monday and Friday.

Salary and Benefits

• Annual salary range: $70,000–$95,000.
• Eligible for bonus compensation.
