Job Description
About JAMPA
JAMPA (Just Another Meal Planning App) is an AI-powered meal planning app for households where everyone eats a little differently. Tell us who’s at the table, and we plan the week: a menu, a shopping list, a prep guide, and a recipe book, with portions sized for each person. Every recipe in JAMPA is gluten-free and dairy-free by default.
We’re a small, early-stage company. This is a chance to shape the recipe foundation of a product from the ground up.
The Role
You’ll create and refine the recipes that power JAMPA’s weekly plans. These are real meals that families get excited about, and they need to work for a table with mixed preferences, mixed appetites, and sometimes mixed training loads.
Because our recipes feed a planning engine, they also need to be clear, precise, and structured. A recipe that tastes great but can’t be scaled or swapped won’t work for us.
What You’ll Do
- Develop new gluten-free, dairy-free recipes that are flavorful
- Write recipes with exact ingredient weights and clear steps, so they scale accurately to different portion sizes without being re-cooked at every size
- Design recipes that flex across a household, with simple swaps for picky eaters, vegetarians, and other dietary needs
- Build recipes with macro targets in mind, including higher-carb, higher-protein, and recovery-friendly options for athletes
- Review and correct existing recipes in our library for accuracy, scalability, and flavor
- Test recipes in your own kitchen and document what you learn
- Flag recipe issues early, before they reach a family’s dinner table
- Collaborate directly with the founder on what to build next
What We’re Looking For
- Strong home or professional cooking experience, with a real track record of writing recipes others can follow
- Hands-on experience cooking gluten-free and dairy-free, and a good sense of what works and what doesn’t
- An understanding of nutrition and macros, and how to build meals around them without losing flavor
- Exceptional attention to detail in writing and documenting recipes
- Self-directed and reliable in a remote, part-time setup
- A genuine love of food and of feeding people well
Nice to have: pastry or baking experience, experience developing recipes for families with kids, experience with athletes’ nutrition, and familiarity with recipe costing.
The Details
- Commitment: Part-time, roughly 10 hours per week
- Location: Remote
- Compensation: Cash, equity, or a combination. We’ll talk about what works best for you.
- Reports to: The founder
How to Apply
Send us:
- A short note about why this role interests you
- Your resume, or a summary of your cooking and recipe development experience
- Two or three sample recipes that show your writing style, ideally gluten-free and dairy-free, with ingredient included
