Job Description

Registered Nurse | Experienced & New Graduates Welcome

Grow your nursing career. Make a lasting impact. Experience Alaska.

Begin your nursing career in a place where you can know your patients, contribute to your team, and become part of the community you serve. Petersburg Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, motivated Registered Nurse to join our team in beautiful Southeast Alaska.

As an independent Community Critical Access Hospital, PMC offers the variety and personal connections that make rural nursing rewarding. Care for patients from childhood through older adulthood, with practice spanning acute care, swing bed, outpatient, emergency, home health and long-term care services. Help patients through unexpected illness, support their recovery, and build relationships with residents and families. Develop your assessment skills, clinical judgment, and confidence while working closely with nurses, providers, and colleagues across our healthcare team. We value initiative, communication, and teamwork. Bring your commitment to learning and grow toward greater professional independence as your skills develop.

Outside work, discover life in Petersburg—a welcoming island community surrounded by mountains, forests, and coastal waters. Spend your time hiking, kayaking, fishing, and exploring Southeast Alaska while building a career that makes a difference close to home.

Education and Licensure: Graduate of an accredited, board-approved registered nursing program. Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing, or qualifying nursing diploma accepted. Alaska RN or LPN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications required before beginning clinical duties. New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Schedule: Primarily six 12½-hour night shifts plus 24 hours of call per two-week pay period.

Benefits: Full-time position with competitive pay, relocation assistance, comprehensive benefits, participation in the State of Alaska retirement program, and generous PTO and sick leave.
