Job Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain security measures for applications deployed in cloud environments.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analysis to identify and mitigate risks associated with application and cloud infrastructures.
• Collaborate with development teams to incorporate security best practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Design and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Monitor networks and applications for vulnerabilities and security threats, responding swiftly to incidents.
• Provide guidance and training to engineering teams on security best practices and tools.
• Stay updated on emerging security threats and technologies to proactively enhance security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in application or cloud security.
• Strong understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with security scanning tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security Specialty are a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Technologies & Tools

The Application/Cloud Security Engineer will utilize a variety of technologies and tools including but not limited to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud; security tools like IDS/IPS, SIEM, and DLP solutions; CI/CD pipelines; and various programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go for security automation tasks. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is also advantageous.
