Overview

Get It - Finance is seeking a skilled Remote Cloud Data Engineer with expertise in AWS to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data workflows, as well as ensuring the availability and performance of applications hosted on cloud platforms. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and other engineers to facilitate the integration and implementation of cloud data solutions, ensuring that they align with the company’s strategic goals and technical requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading into our data environments.
• Implement data warehouses, data lakes, and other cloud-based data solutions on AWS.
• Monitor and optimize performance of existing cloud data solutions, including troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure data availability and integrity.
• Ensure security best practices are followed in handling sensitive data across cloud environments.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Document data architecture and maintain clear records of data models and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
• Proficient in SQL and experience with various database technologies (e.g., Redshift, DynamoDB).
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue).
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Familiarity with data modeling and data warehousing principles.
• Experience in cloud architecture and data security best practices.

Technologies & Tools

The position primarily utilizes various AWS services, including but not limited to Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and S3. Experience with ETL frameworks such as Apache Airflow or similar is highly advantageous. Additionally, familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting software will be beneficial to support our data scientists and analysts.
