Sales Engineer and Managing Director

We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Director of Sales, Engineering & Service to lead business operations, drive sales growth, and oversee customer relationships, technical support, and service operations. Reporting directly to the company owner, this individual will lead a small team, serve as the company's product expert, and identify opportunities to expand the business and strengthen customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily business operations, sales strategy, and overall business growth.
• Build and maintain customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
• Work with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate metrology solutions.
• Supervise and support Sales, Service, Order Handling, and Project Management teams.
• Provide technical guidance on equipment troubleshooting, repairs, programming, and applications.
• Oversee equipment installation, customer training, and dimensional measurement inspections.
• Manage supplier relationships and explore new product lines and market opportunities.
• Improve operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, revenue, and profitability.
• 50% travel to customer locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of customer-facing experience in sales, account management, or customer service.
• Minimum 3–5 years of management experience.
• Metrology industry knowledge and experience with precision measurement equipment preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to build customer relationships, develop business, and lead teams.
• Computer proficiency required; CNC, CMM, or vision system software experience preferred.
