Job Description

Maalexi is seeking a highly driven, target-oriented Sales Manager to lead buyer acquisition and physical agricultural commodity sales across the US market. This is a hands-on, transaction-driven sales role focused on acquiring active buyers, securing purchase orders, closing commodity trades, and generating consistent revenue—not merely building relationships or onboarding platform users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Buyer Acquisition: Identify, prospect, and convert US importers, wholesalers, distributors, food processors, and institutional buyers into active purchasing customers.
  • Transaction Execution: Drive the complete sales cycle from buyer engagement, product quotations, and negotiations to confirmed purchase orders, delivery, and settlement.
  • Revenue & Volume Targets: Own monthly and quarterly targets for buyer acquisition, executed transaction value, commodity volumes, and gross margins.
  • Deal Pipeline: Build and actively convert a qualified pipeline of buyers with verified purchasing requirements and near-term procurement potential.
  • Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate commodity pricing, specifications, volumes, payment terms, and delivery conditions to close profitable transactions.
  • Repeat Sales: Develop long-term buyer relationships that generate recurring orders and increasing transaction volumes.
  • Execution Coordination: Work closely with sourcing, finance, and logistics teams to ensure timely and successful transaction fulfilment.

Qualifcations

  • 5+ years of proven B2B sales experience in physical agrifood commodities, food imports, wholesale distribution, or commodity trading.
  • Established relationships with US agricultural commodity buyers, importers, distributors, or food processors are strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently acquire buyers, negotiate deals, and close physical commodity transactions.
  • Strong understanding of commodity pricing, Incoterms, trade documentation, margins, and supply chain execution.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving sales revenue, transaction volume, and margin targets.
  • Aggressive, self-driven, execution-focused sales professional with strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, International Trade, or a related field preferred.
