Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Perimeter Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a critical utilities location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access points, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. You will communicate professionally with employees and visitors while supporting a secure environment. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and utility operations personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access-control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of utility facilities, substations, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter boundaries to help identify unusual activity, unsecured access points, hazards, and/or policy concerns.
• Monitor and control access to restricted utility infrastructure and critical operational areas by verifying authorization, screening visitors and contractors as required, and maintaining accurate activity records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and coordinate with emergency responders when needed.
• Prepare clear, timely reports related to patrols, incidents, access-control activity, and other security-related observations in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
  
  

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
