Senior AI and Data Engineer

Position Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Senior AI and Data Engineer to help expand and modernize its internal AI and data platforms. The organization has developed a suite of business applications powered by AI and advanced analytics and is now focused on enhancing scalability, governance, and long-term sustainability across its technology ecosystem.

You will work with existing solutions and data assets to improve reliability, integrate additional data sources, strengthen security controls, and deliver new capabilities that support business operations and decision-making.

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering, data engineering, and AI application development experience, with the ability to move solutions from concept through production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

AI & Application Engineering

• Design, enhance, and maintain AI-enabled applications using Python, TypeScript, React, and related technologies.
• Refactor existing solutions for improved scalability, maintainability, and performance.
• Develop reusable components and services that support a variety of business workflows.

Data Engineering & Integration

• Build and maintain data pipelines connecting enterprise applications, operational systems, third-party platforms, and cloud-based data environments.
• Design scalable data architectures that support reporting, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accessibility across multiple systems.

AI Solutions & Automation

• Develop and deploy applications leveraging LLMs, AI APIs, and emerging AI frameworks.
• Evaluate and implement new approaches for information retrieval, workflow automation, and intelligent decision support.
• Create standards and best practices for AI implementation, testing, and governance.

Analytics & Decision Support

• Work with structured and unstructured datasets using SQL and Python.
• Develop analytical models, business logic, and calculation frameworks to support operational and strategic initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement through data and automation.

Platform Security & Reliability

• Implement authentication, authorization, audit logging, and monitoring capabilities.
• Establish automated testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment processes.
• Support platform stability, performance optimization, and operational resilience.

Collaboration & Technical Leadership

• Work closely with business leaders, product stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, technology selection, and platform strategy.

Documentation & Governance

• Create and maintain technical documentation, data standards, and operational procedures.
• Establish monitoring, validation, and quality-control processes.
• Support ongoing governance initiatives related to data, AI, and application lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, including building and deploying production applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, TypeScript/JavaScript, and React.
• Experience working with LLM APIs, including OpenAI, Claude, or equivalent technologies.
• Demonstrated experience designing and supporting production data pipelines and integrations.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, CI/CD, and secure software development.
• Experience implementing testing frameworks, monitoring solutions, and data validation processes.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
