Position Overview

Catchafire is seeking a talented and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing effective DevOps practices, managing cloud infrastructure, and optimizing our continuous integration and delivery pipelines. You will collaborate closely with software development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployment and reliability of our applications, thereby enhancing our overall productivity and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and streamline software delivery.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define, implement and monitor deployment strategies and performance metrics.
• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
• Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
• Ensure proactive monitoring and alerting of system health using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Implement and maintain containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members in DevOps practices.
• Continuously evaluate and improve existing infrastructure, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps role or similar position.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools including Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and monitoring best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
