Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join Motion Recruitment as our first DevOps hire. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure and deployment pipeline. This position offers the opportunity to develop and streamline automated processes, enhance system efficiency, and facilitate a culture of continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement cloud-based infrastructure solutions using best practices in security and scalability.
• Manage deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes to ensure automated, reliable, and efficient software delivery.
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of services through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps methodologies into workflows and improve overall software quality.
• Establish metrics and monitoring solutions to gauge the effectiveness of system operations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers as we build out our DevOps capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or CircleCI.
• Proficient in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.) for automation tasks.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, and automation best practices.

Technologies & Tools

The Senior DevOps Engineer will work with a variety of technologies and tools including but not limited to AWS (EC2, S3, RDS), Terraform for infrastructure as code, Kubernetes for container orchestration, Jenkins for CI/CD, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet is also essential for this role.
