Job Overview

The Senior Engineer - SRE Platform at GEICO will play a pivotal role in enhancing the reliability and performance of our systems and applications. Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust infrastructure to support application services and development needs.
• Monitor system performance and availability, proactively identifying issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain service-level objectives (SLOs) and service-level agreements (SLAs).
• Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Lead incident management practices, including postmortem analysis to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to consolidate and simplify deployment processes.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and technical skills.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance system performance and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or similar role.
• Strong understanding of site reliability engineering principles and practices.
• Experience with configuration management tools and automation frameworks such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Go, or similar.
• In-depth experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
