Location: 9301 Frazier Pike, Little Rock, AR 72206
Duration: Full-time role
Work type: Onsite
Required Industry: Manufacturing/Industrial/Production/Machinery
Experience required: 5 – 6 years of manufacturing accounting experience
Position Overview:
- We are seeking a results-driven Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team.
- This role is a critical partner to the CFO and operational leadership, providing analytical insight across cost accounting, FP&A, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing finance experience — ideally within steel, metals, or heavy industrial sectors — and is highly proficient in SAP or comparable ERP platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and forecasting cycles across all business units
- Develop and maintain rolling financial models to project revenue, cost, and cash flow
- Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget vs. prior year) and present findings to senior leadership
- Prepare executive-level financial presentations and board reporting packages
Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance
- Manage and maintain the standard costing system, including cost rollups, BOM reviews, and overhead rate analysis
- Analyze manufacturing variances — purchase price, labor efficiency, overhead absorption — and identify corrective actions
- Partner with plant operations to drive cost reduction initiatives and improve gross margin
- Support month-end close activities including inventory valuation, WIP analysis, and COGS reconciliation
ERP & Systems
- Leverage SAP (FI/CO modules) to extract, analyze, and report financial data
- Maintain and improve financial reporting tools, dashboards, and models in Excel and Power BI
- Partner with IT and operations to enhance ERP data integrity and reporting automation
Business Partnering & Ad Hoc Analysis
- Serve as a financial business partner to supply chain, procurement, and operations teams
- Support capital expenditure analysis, ROI modeling, and project-level financial tracking
- Assist in annual audit preparation, internal controls documentation, and compliance activities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA or CPA a plus)
- 5–6 years of progressive financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated expertise in cost accounting and standard costing methodologies
- Strong proficiency in SAP (FI/CO modules) or equivalent ERP system
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, financial modeling); Power BI or Tableau experience preferred
- Experience in the steel, metals, or industrial manufacturing sector strongly preferred
- Proven ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with oil & gas tubular or line pipe products
- Familiarity with GAAP inventory accounting (FIFO, weighted average, standard cost)
- Experience supporting multi-site or multi-entity manufacturing operations
- CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary aligned with manufacturing industry benchmarks
- Annual performance bonus tied to individual and company results
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with company match
- Paid time off, holidays, and professional development support
Must have:
- 5+ years of direct manufacturing finance experience
- Count manufacturing finance years only, not total finance experience
- Background must be heavy industrial, steel, metals or manufacturing
Standard costing ownership
- Has maintained a standard cost system, not just reported on it
- BOM reviews, cost rollups and overhead rate analysis
Manufacturing variance analysis
- Purchase price variance (PPV)
- Labor variances (efficiency/rate)
- Material variances (usage)
- Overhead absorption
- Must be able to explain variances and drive corrective actions
Inventory, WIP and COGS accounting
- Inventory valuation across raw materials, WIP and finished goods
- Work-in-process (WIP) analysis
- COGS reconciliation during month-end close
- Understands how manufacturing variances affect inventory valuation and margins
Plant-level cost accounting
- Hands-on, day-to-day involvement with plant operations
- Has worked directly with plant leadership, operations, supply chain and manufacturing managers
- Corporate/HQ FP&A experience alone does not qualify
Candidate Acceptable Background:
- Steel, metals, pipe/tubular, OCTG, line pipe; oil & gas manufacturing
- Heavy industrial manufacturing
- Other manufacturing with strong plant cost accounting.
