Job Description
About the Role
Location: Remote
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Senior Architect
Experience: 7+ years in software development (3+ years specialized in data engineering)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who can build modern web applications end-to-end and is equally comfortable designing the data pipelines and data architecture behind them.
In this role, you will own features across the entire stack—from database design and ELT transformation layers (SQL, dbt, Python) through backend REST APIs to the React front end. You will work directly with clients and a small, senior team to ship high-impact products.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Web Application Development
- Design, build, and ship responsive web applications using React, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs in Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
- Translate business requirements and UX designs into clean, reusable, well-tested components.
- Integrate front-end interfaces with complex data services, analytics dashboards, and reporting views.
Data Engineering & ELT
- Design and maintain ELT pipelines ingesting data from APIs, files, and operational databases.
- Model data in modern data warehouses using dbt (staging, intermediate, and mart layers, complete with tests and documentation).
- Write complex, performant SQL (window functions, CTEs, query tuning) on platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or PostgreSQL.
- Own data quality assurance, validation, monitoring, lineage, and alerting.
Engineering Excellence & Leadership
- Set engineering standards, conduct thorough pull request reviews, and mentor mid-level and junior developers.
- Shape architecture decisions spanning both application and data layers.
- Implement CI/CD, automated testing, and version control best practices using Git.
- Collaborate directly with clients and product owners to scope work, provide accurate estimates, and deliver in agile sprints.
Qualifications
- Core Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience), hands-on Git/CI/CD experience, familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and clear written/spoken English for direct client communication.
Required Skills
- Python (5+ years): Production APIs, data processing (pandas or similar), scripting, and automation.
- SQL (Expert level): Complex queries, data modeling, and performance tuning on modern data warehouses.
- dbt (2+ years): Building and maintaining dbt projects (models, tests, macros, documentation).
- JavaScript / HTML / CSS: Strong command of modern JavaScript (ES6+), semantic HTML5, and responsive CSS3.
- React (3+ years): Building production React apps using hooks, state management, and custom component design.
Preferred Skills
- TypeScript and Next.js
- Orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect)
- Snowflake or Databricks certifications
- Streaming or event-driven data architectures (Kafka, Kinesis)
- Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- BI and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) or charting libraries (D3, Recharts)
- Exposure to AI/ML pipelines or LLM-enabled applications
- Prior consulting or client-facing services experience
Required Skills
Who Will Thrive Here
- You care about the whole product—from clean table design down to the micro-interactions on the user interface.
- You take full ownership of your work and proactively communicate early when risks or blockers arise.
- You enjoy teaching, raising the engineering bar, and collaborating closely with teammates.
