Overview

The Senior II Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - Cloud Native at Akamai Technologies is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-native services. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust cloud-native applications in production environments.
• Monitor system performance metrics and proactively troubleshoot issues to enhance uptime and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize software development processes and automation of operational tasks.
• Implement and enforce best practices in system design, architecture, and operational support.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and create action plans to reduce recurrence of incidents.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve operational practices and efficiency.
• Assist with on-call duties as part of a rotation to ensure 24/7 service availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or equivalent roles.
• Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of containerization technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
