Job Overview

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer at BigCommerce will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure solutions that support our eCommerce platforms. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor robust infrastructure systems to support high-availability eCommerce solutions.
• Manage and optimize cloud resources across various platforms, ensuring cost-efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate with software engineering teams to set up infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
• Establish and uphold security best practices across all infrastructure components.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support and incident management.
• Regularly assess and implement infrastructure improvements to enhance performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering or related roles.
• Extensive experience with cloud service providers, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, virtualization, and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, or Chef).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration across different teams and stakeholders.
