Senior Software Engineer – C#/.NET & Azure

Location: West Los Angeles, CA — remote initially; future hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week onsite

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with principal-level technical leadership experience to help modernize a Banking as a Service (BaaS) platform. This hands-on position will design and develop cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices supporting banking, payments, partner onboarding, and complex integrations.

The ideal candidate combines strong C#/.NET development skills with experience designing scalable distributed systems, guiding architectural decisions, and improving production reliability.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of APIs and microservices supporting partner onboarding and platform integrations.
• Design scalable, secure, maintainable cloud-native solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to define requirements and deliver solutions.
• Guide architectural decisions and document design options, tradeoffs, and technical direction.
• Improve engineering practices through code reviews, mentoring, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability.
• Develop monitoring and alerting capabilities supporting service-level commitments.
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis to improve system reliability.
• Refactor existing applications, resolve defects, deliver enhancements, and address technical debt.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or foreign equivalent.
• At least 6 years of relevant software engineering experience, including technical design and architecture responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• Experience designing, developing, and hosting cloud-native applications in Azure or AWS.
• Experience with Azure services such as API Management, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, and Key Vault.
• Strong RESTful API design skills, including OAuth2 and OpenAPI; familiarity with SOAP, XML, and JSON.
• Experience with microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture using Service Bus, Event Hubs, or comparable technologies.
• Familiarity with container technologies and caching frameworks.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, build tools such as TeamCity, and blue-green deployments.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
• Knowledge of financial services security practices and compliance standards, including PCI DSS and SOC 2.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Banking, payments, fintech, or embedded finance platform experience.
• Familiarity with partner onboarding workflows and service-level agreement management.
• Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications.

Location and Work Authorization Requirements

This position is remote initially and will transition to a hybrid schedule requiring at least 3 days per week onsite in West Los Angeles. The transition timeline has not been determined. Candidates must be able to commit to this future onsite requirement.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship, including upon potential conversion to permanent employment.
