Senior Software Engineer - Platform Billing Experience

About the Opportunity:

The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - PLATFORM BILLING EXPERIENCE role focuses on enhancing the billing systems that support the cloud business across multiple global cloud providers. This position is responsible for owning critical APIs and console features that improve the clarity and management of billing information for customers and internal users, thereby directly impacting the reliability and usability of the billing experience.

Responsibilities:

• Own and enhance public and internal billing APIs, prioritizing reliability and developer experience.
• Design and develop full-stack features for billing and account management within cloud consoles.
• Lead small to medium projects from design through delivery.
• Influence API design decisions including versioning and contract consistency.
• Improve service observability and reliability through monitoring and incident management.
• Participate in code and design reviews as a trusted reviewer.
• Mentor junior engineers through feedback and collaboration.
• Collaborate with Product and Technical Leads on priorities and technical strategies.
• Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to production readiness.

Requirements:

• Over 5 years of experience in backend or full-stack engineering with a focus on API development.
• Experience with customer-facing or developer-facing products at scale.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems for reliability and scalability.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure environments such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies like React is beneficial.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions and handle ambiguous challenges.
• Effective communication skills.
• Experience with SaaS billing, metering, or financial systems preferred.
• Comfortable working in a global, distributed, asynchronous environment.
• Proven use of AI in software development for efficiency and quality improvements.
• Eligibility to work in Department of Defense Impact Level 4 or higher cloud environments.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The typical starting salary range for this role is: $133,100 to $210,600 USD.
• In select locations including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area, the range is: $159,900 to $252,900 USD.
• This role includes participation in a stock program and a company-matched 401(k) plan with up to 6% matching.
• Compensation varies based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and location.
