Overview

Velocity Tech Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) and Monitoring Tools Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust monitoring solutions that ensure the reliability, performance, and availability of our applications and services. Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable monitoring and alerting systems to track application and infrastructure performance.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and product teams to define service level objectives (SLOs) and service level indicators (SLIs).
• Conduct root cause analyses of incidents and develop automated remediation strategies.
• Participate in on-call rotations and develop playbooks for incident management.
• Lead the definition and implementation of best practices for reliability and observability across the engineering teams.
• Evaluate and integrate new monitoring technologies and tools that enhance our operational capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions on monitoring and reliability practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or equivalent.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or a similar language.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
