Senior Systems Engineer / Solutions Architect | Remote (US) | $95,000 - $105,000 + Benefits

A growing managed services provider is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Solutions Architect to join its technical team.

This is an opportunity for a highly technical, customer-facing engineer who enjoys designing modern infrastructure solutions while remaining hands-on with implementation and advanced troubleshooting. You'll work across a variety of client environments, combining solution architecture, project delivery, and senior escalation support.

The Opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of engineering and architecture. You'll work directly with clients to assess existing environments, design cloud-first solutions, and lead the delivery of infrastructure modernization projects.

Alongside project work, you'll serve as a senior escalation resource for complex technical challenges, helping ensure client environments remain secure, scalable, and reliable.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead technical assessments and translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions
• Design and implement Azure, Microsoft 365, and endpoint management solutions
• Deliver projects involving Intune, Endpoint Manager, Autopilot, Conditional Access, and compliance policies
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot networking environments including firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, and VLANs
• Support and administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Azure environments
• Create Statements of Work (SOWs), technical designs, implementation plans, and project documentation
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure and cloud issues
• Perform root cause analysis and develop long-term remediation strategies
• Partner with project teams, account managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical best practices across the organization
• Drive improvements in cloud security, automation, monitoring, and operational processes

Required Experience

• 5+ years of experience within an MSP, consulting, or fast-paced IT services environment
• Strong expertise across:
• Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft 365
• Windows Server
• Active Directory
• Group Policy
• DNS
• Intune / Endpoint Manager
• Experience designing and supporting cloud-first infrastructure environments
• Strong networking knowledge including firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, and wireless technologies
• Virtualization experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure Virtual Desktop
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience
• Experience creating technical documentation, project plans, and Statements of Work
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent client-facing communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-305
• Networking certifications including CCNA or CCNP
• Cybersecurity certifications or experience implementing security best practices
• Experience with PSA and documentation platforms
• Previous solution architecture or technical consulting experience
