Job Overview

VAAM Technologies is seeking a dedicated and skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our expanding team. This position is primarily remote; however, applicants must reside in Dallas to facilitate occasional in-person collaborations and meetings. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-availability systems, managing incident response, automating operations tasks, and ensuring infrastructure scalability. By bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, you will enhance system reliability and performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure to support application development and deployment.
• Develop and maintain monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance and high availability of services.
• Work collaboratively with development teams to enhance the reliability and performance of applications.
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to minimize operational work and enhance efficiency.
• Respond promptly to incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Document systems, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and consistency.
• Participate in on-call rotation and provide level 2 and level 3 support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Go, or Ruby.
• Experience with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes or Docker.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
