About the Role

The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help maintain and improve its API Gateway and related traffic management systems. This role focuses on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure that supports complex requirements such as rate limiting and request routing.

You will lead technical and architectural decisions, contribute hands-on to production code, and mentor other engineers. Working with a remote team, you will help solve infrastructure challenges, improve system performance, and support the reliability of services used by developers at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical decision-making and contribute to system architecture.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and performant solutions for complex infrastructure challenges, including rate limiting and routing.
• Maintain and improve the API Gateway and related traffic management systems.
• Write, review, and maintain production code, primarily using Go and Ruby on Rails.
• Mentor engineers and support their technical and architectural decision-making.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to help maintain service reliability.
• Contribute to team meetings and collaborative problem-solving.

Required Qualifications

• At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience developing and maintaining production software using one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
• At least 4 years of experience building and supporting large-scale, high-traffic applications in platform or infrastructure environments.
• At least 4 years of experience building and supporting cloud-native workloads on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• At least 2 years of experience maintaining an API Gateway.
