Software Engineer (Backend / Full Stack)

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join our growing technology team in Silicon Valley.

In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of scalable software systems and applications. You will work closely with a small, highly collaborative engineering team to build reliable, high-performance solutions supporting our global business operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong technical fundamentals, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership of development tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and software applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and international engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve system reliability, scalability, and security.
• Take ownership of assigned features throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Contribute to engineering best practices, development processes, and technical improvements.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Java, Python, Go, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience building backend services, RESTful APIs, or distributed applications.
• Familiarity with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with Git, testing, debugging, and modern software development workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Good English communication skills and the ability to collaborate with distributed teams.

Preferred

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with microservices, distributed systems, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
• Previous experience in fintech, payment systems, lending platforms, or other transaction-intensive applications.
• Experience working in startups, small engineering teams, or fast-growing technology companies.
• Mandarin communication skills are a plus.
