About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer – Data Infrastructure to design, develop, and deploy production-grade backend and platform systems. You will work on greenfield infrastructure supporting data ingestion, data modeling, permissions, lineage, and cloud environment provisioning.

Working within a lean engineering team, you will take ownership of technical projects from initial scoping through production deployment. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, sound technical judgment, and the ability to execute independently in an early-stage environment.

You will have significant influence over technical architecture and implementation while working on foundational systems that support the company's core product.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production-grade backend systems and data infrastructure.
• Build reliable data ingestion pipelines and systems that transform diverse data formats into structured, typed, and related records.
• Develop robust data models and implement data lineage, schema management, and permissioning mechanisms.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure capable of provisioning and managing customer-specific AWS environments.
• Own engineering projects end-to-end, including problem definition, technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Make architectural decisions that support system reliability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with the founding team to establish technical direction and deliver core product capabilities.
• Leverage LLMs, AI agents, and modern development tools to improve engineering productivity and accelerate implementation.

Required Qualifications

• Approximately 1–8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience building production software systems.
• Demonstrated experience designing and shipping backend, platform, or data infrastructure systems.
• Strong understanding of data modeling fundamentals, including schema design, data relationships, lineage, and access permissions.
• Experience working in an early-stage, venture-backed startup environment, ideally from Pre-Seed through Series D.
• Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and deliver solutions with limited supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make effective technical decisions in ambiguous environments.
• A track record of increasing responsibility, project ownership, or professional growth.
• A strong computer science foundation, typically demonstrated through a degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and production environment management.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Experience provisioning and managing cloud resources programmatically.
• Familiarity with data governance, access control, and systems that maintain traceability across data transformations.
• Experience incorporating LLMs and AI-powered development tools into everyday engineering workflows.
