Software Engineer

Role Description This is an on-site Software Engineer internship role based in Brentwood, CA. Interns will collaborate with the engineering team to design, implement, test, and maintain back-end services and APIs that support PlanChecker.AI’s applications. Daily responsibilities may include writing clean, well-documented code, troubleshooting and fixing bugs, participating in code reviews, and assisting with integrating new features into existing systems. Interns will also support efforts to optimize performance, improve reliability, and ensure that software components meet functional and security requirements. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience with modern development practices and tools while contributing to active products.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, with exposure to server-side frameworks or APIs.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Ability to read, understand, and improve existing code; familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Comfort working on-site in a collaborative environment, with effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in AI-powered applications, web technologies, and learning new tools and frameworks as needed.
