Location: 100% onsite in Huntsville, AL

Position Status: Project based 2-3 weeks

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Engineer / Azure Infrastructure Migration Specialist to lead the execution of a critical Azure Local migration project in Huntsville, Alabama.

This is a short-term, hands-on technical engagement focused on migrating production virtual workloads from two existing Dell AX-750 Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) clusters into a newly deployed Dell AX-760 Azure Local environment. The architecture and planning phases have already been completed, allowing you to focus exclusively on migration execution, troubleshooting, validation, and ensuring a seamless transition.

What You'll Do

• Execute the migration of virtual machines from two Dell AX-750 Azure Local clusters to a new Dell AX-760 Azure Local cluster.
• Utilize Azure Migrate, Double-Take, or related migration technologies to facilitate workload transitions.
• Perform hands-on migration activities while minimizing service interruptions and business impact.
• Validate migrated workloads, ensuring application functionality, connectivity, performance, and operational readiness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve migration, networking, virtualization, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Collaborate with onsite infrastructure teams to coordinate migration activities and execution schedules.
• Verify successful workload operation within the new Azure Local environment.
• Document migration outcomes, technical findings, issues encountered, and remediation steps.
• Provide post-migration support and validation to ensure project success.

Must-Have Experience

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Local (formerly Azure Stack HCI) environments.
• Proven experience performing enterprise-scale virtual machine migrations.
• Experience using Azure Migrate, Double-Take, or similar migration tools.
• Strong expertise with Microsoft Hyper-V, virtualization platforms, and clustered infrastructure.
• Experience supporting enterprise server, storage, and networking environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot migration failures, performance issues, and infrastructure compatibility challenges.
• Strong understanding of high-availability and clustered virtualization architectures.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight in a fast-paced project environment.
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to work onsite in Huntsville, Alabama for the duration of the engagement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Dell Integrated Systems for Microsoft Azure Local, including AX-750 and AX-760 platforms.
• Experience consolidating multiple virtualization clusters into a single environment.
• Knowledge of Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
• Familiarity with Azure Arc, hybrid cloud infrastructure, and cloud-connected operations.
• Previous experience supporting federal, government, defense, or large enterprise environments.
• Microsoft certifications such as: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Hybrid Infrastructure certifications, Windows Server or Infrastructure-related certifications
