Solutions Lead Java / AWS

Location: Remote U.S.

Travel: On-site in Omaha once per quarter

Employment: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card only

Conversion: Must be able to convert to client full-time employment after 6 months

Job Summary

Seeking a hands-on Solutions Lead to lead software engineers while driving solution architecture, technical design, and application delivery. The role focuses on scalable cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, REST APIs, Kafka, and MongoDB.

Mandatory Skills

5+ years leading and mentoring software engineering teams.
Strong hands-on Java, Spring Boot, and AWS experience.
REST APIs, Kafka, MongoDB, and event-driven architecture.
Strong solution architecture and system design experience.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with application development through production support.
Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.

Preferred Skills

MuleSoft / API-led integration.
React or experience supporting front-end teams.
Experience influencing architecture across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor engineers across design, development, deployment, and production support.
Design and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot applications on AWS.
Build REST APIs and event-driven integrations using Kafka and MongoDB.
Make architecture and technical design decisions.
Ensure security, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
Use AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders.

Interview Process: Technical Assessment + 2 Panel Interviews
