Overview

The Senior DevOps Engineer at BMC Software will be instrumental in bridging the gap between development and operations teams, ensuring the smooth deployment, integration, and support of software applications. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment efficiency.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot operational issues to ensure availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure the smooth integration of code changes.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and practices to foster innovation in the development lifecycle.
• Maintain documentation related to systems configuration, process management, and operational procedures.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior DevOps engineers.
• Participate in on-call support rotations and lead incident management efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate effectively.
