Overview

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Varo Bank plays a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of our technology infrastructure. Job Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the monitoring, scalability, and reliability of applications and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure that SRE principles are integrated into product development and deployment.
• Automate operational tasks through scripting and software engineering practices.
• Manage incidents and conduct postmortem analyses to improve reliability and performance.
• Develop metrics and dashboards for visibility into service health and performance.
• Lead the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders on the health and reliability of various systems and projects.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or a related IT discipline.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure; proficiency in AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
• Solid understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong grasp of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Technologies & Tools

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will work with a variety of technologies and tools, including but not limited to AWS for cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes for container orchestration, Prometheus and Grafana for monitoring and alerting, Terraform for infrastructure as code, and Git for version control. Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases for storage solutions may also be necessary, depending on the applications in use.
