Staff Fullstack Engineer - Platform - App Core Usage | Canada | Remote

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Fullstack Engineer - Platform - App Core Usage to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will focus on the core platform services that support billing and usage-related workflows, with a strong emphasis on backend reliability, automation, and operational excellence. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to improve the accuracy and resilience of critical systems. The position also calls for hands-on contribution to frontend applications and close collaboration across infrastructure and application layers.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $186,368 – $223,642 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and operate backend services and APIs for billing and usage calculations
• Build and maintain backend services primarily in Go, contributing to frontend applications as needed
• Enhance the reliability of billing workflows through validation and error handling
• Automate recurring manual tasks to improve operational efficiency
• Maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment configurations
• Investigate production issues across application code and infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements and resolve dependencies
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend system design and operation
• Strong proficiency in Go and familiarity with Node.js
• Experience with frontend technologies like TypeScript and React
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and their complexities
• Proficient in relational databases and cloud infrastructure management
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues effectively
