About the Opportunity:

The STAFF SOFTWARE ENGINEER, MAC CLOUD is responsible for leading the technical direction of the macOS platform within the automation system. This role focuses on delivering scalable, reliable, and maintainable platform capabilities by guiding design, execution, and long-term operational ownership. The position contributes by aligning stakeholders, solving high-impact problems, and enhancing system performance and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deliver scalable technical solutions across multiple services.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews to promote code quality and maintainability.
• Own system health and quality, including participation in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Write architectural briefs, proposals, and conduct code experiments.
• Design and implement APIs for software component integration.
• Utilize CI/CD tools to establish automated pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead discussions on technical solutions and cost considerations.
• Develop testing plans, define success metrics, and integrate customer feedback for continuous improvement.
• Maintain operational excellence within and across teams.
• Use debugging tools and telemetry to verify assumptions and optimize performance.
• Drive and support the technical roadmap aligned with product goals and adopt new technologies as appropriate.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of experience in software engineering or related technical fields with proven production software development skills in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python, OR equivalent education and experience combinations as detailed.
• Willingness and ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule providing 24/7 coverage approximately one week every 2.5 months.
• Preferred: Experience with scripting languages, cloud environments, CNCF concepts, large-scale system architecture, distributed systems, and microservices.

Pay Range and Compensation Package:

• The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
