Staff Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer- Order Up (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Reliability Engineer- Order Up (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Retail & Consumer Goods space.

This role will focus on building, testing, deploying, and maintaining reliable software that delivers value at scale across a retail technology environment. You will partner closely with product and engineering teams to shape developer-ready user stories, resolve technical questions, and strengthen the engineering organization through practical guidance and leadership. The position also emphasizes modern reliability practices, cloud infrastructure, and full-stack technical depth to help improve operational performance and support team growth.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $190,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain software with a focus on delivering value
• Actively seek personal and professional growth through various development channels
• Create innovative strategies for organizational success and ensure user stories are developer-ready
• Field questions from product and engineering teams to provide support
• Guide junior engineers in modern software development frameworks and lead technical discussions
  
  

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in site reliability engineering or a related field
• Proficiency in cloud platforms, with GCP preferred, and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Extensive experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java
• Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies
• Familiarity with security frameworks for user and service authorization and authentication
