Job Overview

As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Gigster, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our cloud-based applications and services. Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure to support product and application deployment.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify system anomalies and performance issues.
• Automate repetitive tasks for efficiency and reliability using scripting and configuration management tools.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that services are designed for reliability and operational scalability.
• Conduct post-mortem analyses on incidents to understand root causes and implement preventative measures.
• Establish and improve system health metrics and dashboards for performance insights.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers on best practices in system reliability and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, or Bash.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts, security, and system architecture.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and a data-driven mindset to resolve issues effectively.

Technologies & Tools

The Staff SRE at Gigster will frequently utilize tools and technologies such as Kubernetes for container orchestration, Terraform for infrastructure as code, Nagios and Prometheus for monitoring, Jenkins for continuous integration and delivery pipelines, and cloud services from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud to manage and optimize our infrastructure. Familiarity with Git and configuration management tools such as Ansible or Chef is also advantageous.
